This symposium offers a unique opportunity for clinical professionals to engage with research and industry professionals from the rehabilitation technology field to understand the evidence supporting the use of wearable technologies for neurorehabilitation in-clinic and in the home and community. Clinical evidence for use of distinct wearable technologies (inertial and pressure sensors) will be presented in didactic lecture. This will be followed by hands-on demonstrations of commercially available exemplars of each technology. Attendees will develop a better understanding of the theoretical background, research evidence, and application basics of these wearable sensor technologies following completion of this symposium.

Learning Objectives:

• Upon completion, participant will be able to distinguish the categories and types of wearable technologies.
• Upon completion, participant will be able to explain the theoretical principles and, research evidence, and practice guidelines for the underlying the use of two types of wearable technologies.
• Upon completion, participant will be able to identify 3 emerging wearable technologies that can be used as adjuncts to standard neurorehabilitation.
• Upon completion, participant will be able to describe 3 potential applications of these wearable sensor technologies for neurorehabilitation and the pros and cons of use.
• Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss considerations for technology integration into clinical practice, including potential use cases, clinical contexts, and socioeconomic and ethical factors.
