Knowledge translation (KT) aims to close the research-practice gap in order to realize and maximize the benefits of research within the practice setting.  With variable evidence available to different allied health professionals and limited guidance on implementation of KT strategies, it can be challenging for clinicians in the inpatient setting to design projects seeking change and best practice.  This symposia aims to instruct the audience on the concepts of knowledge translation from the view of allied health professionals who are in the role of clinical specialist on an inpatient rehabilitation unit.  It will discuss the development of an interdisciplinary tool kit to aid clinicians in developing their knowledge translation efforts while outlining the lessons learned from the implementation efforts of each clinician’s personal experience.  The symposia discusses the level of evidence available for each discipline and how this evidence was modified to meet local context and maximize fidelity and engagement.
