The Standards Task Force of the Measurement Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group presents the Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Measurement Validity Framework developed to promote common understanding of measurement principles from instrument development through clinical use. Additionally, we propose development of tools to support measurement decisions, which include a rubric to facilitate instrument selection and use, educational guidelines for faculty in professional educational programs, and manuscript reporting guidelines for researchers, reviewers, and editors.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Measurement Validity Framework for use by all rehabilitation disciplines.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the proposed rubric, which details critical appraisal guidelines for instrument selection and use.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the proposed educational guidelines for faculty in professional educational programs.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the proposed manuscript guidelines for researchers, reviewers, and editors.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Measurement Validity Framework for use by all rehabilitation disciplines.
