This symposium will present recent advances on frailty in MS and will include three sessions aiming to elucidate 1) the epidemiology of frailty in MS, 2) how to assess frailty in people with MS, and 3) intervention strategies for minimizing frailty in people with MS. At the end of the symposium, the attendees will be able to quantify the prevalence of frailty in people with MS, as well as appreciate what the main risk factors and consequences of frailty in MS are. In addition, attendees will learn how to evaluate frailty in people with MS and interpret the main advantages and disadvantages of each frailty assessment tool. Finally, attendees will learn about the current approaches to rehabilitation interventions aimed at counteracting frailty in the MS population.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe the concept of frailty and how frailty affects the lives of people living with multiple sclerosis.
• Discuss different ways of evaluating frailty in people with multiple sclerosis, as well as their unique pros and cons.
• Define current approaches to rehabilitation interventions aiming to minimize frailty in people with multiple sclerosis.
