Intervention fidelity refers to implementation of treatment or approach as intended. Accurate assessment of fidelity is necessary to ensure adherence to intervention principles. Intervention effectiveness and accurate application of intervention in multiple settings can be strengthened by intervention fidelity assessments. Our team developed and implemented a fidelity assessment for an emerging rehabilitation approach, Coaching in Context. This symposium will focus on the importance of intervention fidelity, evidence around evaluating fidelity, systematic development of an assessment, and the challenges with fidelity testing of an emerging rehabilitation approach. Participants will be provided an overview of the literature and discuss the development and implementation of a fidelity assessment.

• Describe assessment of intervention fidelity for a psychosocial intervention of coaching.
• Recognize challenges of implementing a fidelity measure in research.
