We validated this very commonly used resilience scale among inpatients with SCI through factor analysis and item response theory. We recommended the 8-item version of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale for inpatients with SCI. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to define the eight items of a resilience scale (CD-RISC-8).
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to implement the (CD-RISC-8) in a rehabilitation hospital for inpatients with SCI.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the relationships between resilience, depression, satisfaction with life, and intrinsic spirituality.
