High frequency in situ (HFIS) assessment approaches, like Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), are increasingly used to track behaviors and symptoms experienced by persons with disabilities in the context of their daily lives. Our panel of expert speakers will demonstrate how (HFIS) assessments conducted leveraging mobile health technology can be used to understand self-management, pain, and neurobehavioral symptoms after TBI, with the goal of improving proactive intervention and chronic management for these symptoms and their consequences.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize the utility of high frequency in situ assessment for recognizing, tracking, and intervening to improve multidimensional outcomes after TBI.
Name two barriers to individuals with TBI self-managing hypertension and/or diabetes in their daily environments. Delineate sub-domains of neighborhood characteristics associated with TBI outcomes.
Discuss the influence of pain in the lives of people with TBI
Identify common challenges of mobile technology use in the assessment and monitoring of symptoms post TBI
