In recent years, the integration of pediatric rehabilitation medicine and therapies in acute care settings has emerged as a pivotal aspect of enhancing the overall well-being and recovery of young patients. Pediatric rehabilitation physicians serve as orchestrators of comprehensive care, particularly in ICU settings. Their expertise extends beyond the traditional scope of medical care, as they collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and address the unique needs of pediatric patients facing acute and complex medical conditions. This lecture aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of the pivotal roles played by rehabilitation physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists in optimizing outcomes for pediatric patients in acute care settings. Through an interdisciplinary lens, the lecture will highlight the collaborative efforts that contribute to enhancing the overall well-being and recovery of young patients facing acute and complex medical conditions.
