This symposium explores the often-overlooked impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) on brain health, emphasizing physical, emotional, and neuropsychological trauma. The first part introduces the BR.A.I.N. Screening Questionnaire (BSQ), a concise tool detecting IPV-related brain injuries, facilitating tailored interventions. The second part discusses the intersection of IPV and traumatic brain injury (TBI), revealing challenges in diagnosis and treatment. Standardized education and policy improvements are advocated. Lastly, the symposium introduces the Abused & Brain Injured Toolkit and IPV-BI Physician Resource Ver 1.0, providing accessible resources for frontline workers and physicians globally. These initiatives aim to empower healthcare providers in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of IPV survivors with brain injuries, fostering awareness, improving care practices, and advocating for better support.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will develop an increased awareness and will be able to describe how BI and IPV are interconnected.
• Participants will gain knowledge regarding screening to identify both BI and IPV.
• Participants will gain knowledge about prevalence and nature of domestic violence-related brain injuries.
• Participants will become familiar with relevant IPV-BI educational resources.
