This presentation will describe how an interdisciplinary team from two different universities have, and will, further the research and the clinical use of action observation (AO) in stroke rehabilitation. Research will be described that assessed eye gaze patterns to determine areas of interest which can be used to instruct stroke survivors about where they should focus their gaze during AO. Our presentation will then describe how an Occupational Therapy capstone student helped facilitate the use of AO by creating educational material on AO and videos that can be used in clinic and research settings. Future plans for a larger research study will be presented that highlights using a specific AO protocol. Throughout this presentation, we will emphasize the unique interdisciplinary and inter-collegial collaborations that facilitated research, clinical practice, and student education. Our unique combination of clinical and technical expertise can serve as a model for knowledge translation.
