Effect of Executive Function to Postural Control During Standing in People with Diabetes Mellitus – a Dual-task Study

Our study investigated how executive function influences postural control in diabetes patients. By incorporating a dual-task paradigm, we aimed to reveal how cognitive function in terms of executive function affects balance and contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of motor control in diabetes. This research was to seek for a cognition-sensation-coupling balance assessment for diabetes population.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the overall executive function performance .
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize how their executive function contribute to the balance performance.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to identify how their executive function cooperated with sensory systems in standing.
