Audrey Nelson, MS, has been involved in brain injury advocacy for over 40 years. She was part of starting a support group in 1983, two years after experiencing a brain injury herself as a Freshman in college. After earning her graduate degree she owned and operated a company that provided residential care for individuals with brain injury for 27 years. She has been on the boards the Brain Injury Alliance of Wisconsin and the Brain Injury Association of America. She has also been on several Governor and Secretary appointed boards related to disability advocacy. She is currently the Executive Director of the Brain Injury Alliance of Wisconsin and a member of various support groups, including Thursday Nigh Poets.
