Alyssa Pelak is a fourth-year medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College. In 2021, Alyssa graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles where she earned a BS in Human Biology. While an undergraduate, she served as a student athletic trainer for UCLA Athletics, working closely with the UCLA Gymnastics and UCLA Baseball programs. As a medical student, she has founded multiple organizations at Weill Cornell including the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Interest Group. She also worked as a research fellow as part of the Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship (MSSRF) at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Further, she now holds many roles at Weill Cornell, including serving as the clinical director of the student-run Weill Cornell Community Clinic, mentoring students in the neurology clerkship as part of the clerkship peer-to-peer mentoring program, and tutoring pre-clinical students.
