A native of Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, he graduated in Physical Therapy from the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP, 2010). He devoted one year to clinical practice and research in the area of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation at the Exercise Physiology Laboratory of the Cardiology Division of the Hospital das Clínicas (HCFMRP-USP, 2011 - 2012). A Physical Therapist (SES-AM) since 2017, he works in the ICU of the Hospital Unit of the Dr. Heitor Vieira Dourado Tropical Medicine Foundation (FMT-HVD) in Manaus, with patients affected by infectious diseases. He obtained a Ph.D. in tropical and infectious diseases from the Postgraduate Program in Tropical Medicine (PPGMT) at the State University of Amazonas (UEA) in partnership with FMT-HVD in 2017. He is also a researcher at FMT-HVD working in the Carlos Borborema Clinical Research Unit (UPCCB). He coordinates research projects with national and international cooperation. He is a permanent faculty member of PPGMT (UEA/FMT-HVD), the Postgraduate Program in Health Sciences (UFAM), and the Postgraduate Program in Human Movement Sciences (UFAM). He has projects funded by CNPq/CAPES (Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Brazil) and FAPEAM (Amazonas). An affiliated member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Northern region (2019-2023). Research interests include the epidemiology of functional changes caused by tropical and infectious diseases (TIDs), the functionality and physical capacity of individuals affected by TIDs, the biopsychosocial model in functional outcomes in TIDs, the impact of the interaction between TIDs and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) on exercise response and physical exercise, rehabilitation, and exercise physiology in individuals affected by TIDs, and the impact of climate change on the health of the Amazon population, specifically how health problems can affect the incidence of sequelae and disabilities in the population.
