Akhila Veerubhotla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU-Grossman School of Medicine. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship jointly at the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering at Kessler Foundation and in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. She has a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. With formal training in both Engineering and Science, her research focuses on using technology to help improve mobility, balance and physical activity in individuals with neurological impairments.
