Stefanie Gaidos, M.S., CCC-SLP has been a Level II Inpatient Clinical Specialist in Dysphagia Assessment and Treatment at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare since 2014. Stefanie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders at Miami of Ohio and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Nova Southeastern University. She has been a Speech Language Pathologist for 12 years working in the public school system, pediatric and long term acute care settings. Stefanie was the primary investigator in a published study released in 2020 titled, "Implementation of a Free Water Protocol at a Long Term Acute Care Hospital". She is certified in a wide variety of tools used to manage her patients with dysphagia. These include the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP), VitalStim Therapy, Phagenyx Neurostimulation, Synchrony/Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS), Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP), and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Stefanie consistently prioritizes evidence-based treatment and quality of life measures in her clinical practice as a dysphagia specialist.
