Alexa Marks is a Clinical Registered Dietitian for inpatients and outpatients at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare. As part of the nutrition team, daily job function consists of assessment of the nutritional status of adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients through documentation in the medical record. Her passions include nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition) and being a preceptor to help grow the nutrition and dietetics field. Prior to joining Gaylord in June 2022, Alexa graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in Nutritional Sciences Dietetics Options in May 2016. Immediately following was a one year dietetic internship at Yale New Haven Hospital which paved the road to landing the first Clinical Registered Dietitian job at Yale New Haven Hospital - Saint Raphael campus. Over the next 4 years, floor coverage included cardiac, medical surgical, step down ICU and orthopedics during week days while weekend coverage was hospital wide consults also consisting of psychology, bariatric, and oncology patients.
