She is currently the ACME for R&D Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) and prior to this role she was Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Lovell.
Dr. Swaminathan is triple board certified, American Board of Brain Injury Medicine, the American Board of Electro Diagnostic Medicine, and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
She serves as discipline chair of physical medicine and rehabilitation, where she is also an associate professor at the Chicago Medical School. She is the site co-coordinator for the PM&R medical student rotation, clinical electrodiagnostic fellowship director of the Chicago Medical School/Marianjoy PM&R fellowship program, and Polytrauma advanced fellowship director at Lovell.
Dr. Swaminathan has received many honors and awards, including the Illinois State Congressional Award for Excellent Care and Rehabilitation of Mind and Spirit for the PMR department, two Outstanding physician recognition awards, 3 teaching awards from CMS, the Proud to Care Award from the FHCC Medical Center Director, two Patient’s Choice Awards to name a few.
