Melissa Biscardi is a PhD Candidate and Research Trainee at the Acquired Brain Injury Lab, Rehabilitation Sciences Institute, University of Toronto. She has an interest in sex differences in risk, recovery, and response to rehabilitation after concussion with specific interests in oculomotor rehabilitation and leveraging virtual reality. Her Master of Science explored persistent symptoms in women and the novel hormone 'Anti-Mullerian Hormone.’ Melissa's PhD is examining oculomotor rehabilitation in adults after concussion using virtual reality. Ms. Biscardi is funded by the Women and Brain Health award in partnership with University Health Network Foundation, Mitacs Accelerate in collaboration with NeuroFlex Inc and by a Toronto Rehabilitation Institute graduate student scholarship. In addition to her studies and research, Ms. Biscardi maintains a small clinical practice which serves as an opportunity for knowledge translation and a source of inspiration.
