Assistant Director Occupational Therapy
Bellevue Hospital Center
I am both a clinician and a researcher. I have worked in the field of physical rehabilitation for over thirty years, and from this experience I have increasingly pursued research to address persistent social and health issues affecting the populations with whom I work. My research activities began by adding a degree in anthropology to my bachelors in occupational therapy. Currently, in addition to my position as assistant director of occupational therapy at Bellevue Hospital, I am a PhD student in occupational therapy at New York University, with a dissertation grant from the Brain Injury Association of America. I have completed outcome studies within my clinical practice and I have participated in multiple research projects, as a co-investigator in the Rusk TBI Model System grant. I have participated in the community advisory board for projects, led the writing of a traumatic brain injury fact sheet, co-researched and wrote articles on resource provision and social determinants of health, and participated in grant writing.
