Dr. Christine Sheppard is a researcher at Wellesley Institute. As a trained social work researcher and credentialed evaluator, Christine has a strong ethic for co-design and evaluation. She uses a variety of community-based, participatory approaches to work collaboratively across sectors to co-create, implement, and evaluate evidence-based policies and programs that promote health equity, social inclusion, and well-being for older adults.
Christine received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in gerontology, and holds a PhD in Health Studies and Gerontology (with a focus on aging, health and well-being). Prior to starting at Wellesley Institute, she was a CIHR-funded post-doctoral fellow Sunnybrook Research Institute specializing in knowledge translation in urban housing and health.
