Dr. Anderson is the Director of Education, Quality & Research for the VA National Telestroke Program (NTSP). She is also an investigator with the Michael E. DeBakey VAMC, HSR&D Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuEST), and an associate professor in the Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
In her role with the NTSP, she is a member of the executive leadership team where she leads education to support evidence-based care for Veterans receiving Telestroke services and quality improvement, evaluation, and research activities to inform continued program growth and improvement. She is a funded principal investigator with the IQuEST HSR&D Center and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her program of research is focused on identifying effective health information technology, telehealth modalities and implementation strategies for stroke care and prevention.
Dr. Anderson earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and her PhD in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University. She is clinically trained as a nurse practitioner with over 25 years of clinical practice in the care of patients with stroke.
