Katherine completed her Ph.D. in the Rehabilitation Science Doctoral Program with a concentration in Neuromuscular Plasticity at the University of Florida in August of 2024. Her doctoral and post-doctoral work focus on the predictors of persisting symptoms after concussion, with an emphasis on fear-based psychological constructs and autonomic nervous system dysfunction after mild traumatic brain injury. Additionally, Katherine obtained a graduate certificate in Implementation Science with the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. In addition to her roles as a student and post-doctoral fellow, Katherine has served as a research coordinator for the Musculoskeletal Research Program at Brooks Rehabilitation and has been a member of the Brooks and College of Public Health and Health Professions Collaboration since 2019. Katherine is also post-doctoral faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Florida for the doctoral-level courses Evidence-Based Practice and Health Promotions and Wellness. Her doctoral and post-doctoral training, role with the Brooks Clinical Research Center, and teaching responsibilities are under the mentorship of Dr. Jason Beneciuk.
