Kelly Lyons, Ph.D., completed a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master of arts in psychology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She received her Ph.D. in experimental and cognitive psychology with a concentration in gerontology from the University of Kansas in 1993. She completed a fellowship in neurodegenerative disorders in the Parkinson's Disease Center at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
In 1995, Dr. Lyons became an instructor in the Department of Neurology and was a research assistant professor from 1998-00. She served as a research assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Medical Center in Miami, Florida, from 2000-03, before rejoining the neurology faculty at KU Medical Center as a research associate professor and director of research for the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Center. She became a research professor in 2011.
