Bridget Smith, PhD is a health economist at the Veterans Health Administration's Spinal Cord Injuries and Disorders National Program Office.
In this role, Dr. Smith focuses on project oversight and the independent design, conduct, and coordination of SCI/D health services program evaluation, cost studies, and research projects related to operational issues and care for Veterans with SCI/D. Previously, Dr. Smith was a health services researcher. She has co-authored over 150 publications, serves on the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine’s editorial board, and was an ongoing participant in VA’s scientific merit review boards for both health services research and rehabilitation research. Dr. Smith received her doctorate in Public Affairs in 2004 from Indiana University Bloomington, focusing on health care policy, policy analysis, and public finance.
