Dr. Maria Ryssdal Kraby, M.D., Ph.D. is a researcher at the University of Oslo, and a doctor working at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital in Norway.
She graduated from medical school at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2017, and finished her Ph.D. at the same university in 2019. Through her doctorate about breast cancer, she became increasingly interested in the importance of not only adding years to life, but also adding life to years. The desire to improve quality of life led her into the field of rehabilitation. She is currently undergoing specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital, which is the larges rehabilitation hospital in Norway. She is a researcher in the "Specialized Rehabilitation of Ukrainian Citizens" study, which is led by Professor Frank Becker at the University of Oslo. The aims of this study are to assess the results and experiences from the rehabilitation of Ukrainian MEDEVAC patients at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital. The main areas of interest are communication, cultural differences, infection isolation, psychosocial load, and the rehabilitation process as a whole.
