Dr. Gloria Vergara-Diaz is currently a physiatrist in the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital (Seville, Spain). She earned her Medical Degree in 2008 and her Master's Degree in Biomedical Research in 2011 from the University of Seville (Seville, Spain). She completed her specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in 2013. Following her residency program, she worked at the same hospital as a physiatrist in the Trauma ER and the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. In 2019, she completed her PhD program with research activities conducted at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Harvard Medical School, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, in Boston (US), where she also served as a Research Scientist until 2023.
Her professional interests include the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders, pediatric and pelvic floor rehabilitation, and the management of patients with disabling conditions. She has considerable experience in conducting evaluations, monitoring outcomes, and providing therapeutic interventions.
Her primary research focus is on the optimization of the use of emerging technologies, including motion analysis, robotics, mobile, and digital health, to develop personalized rehabilitation interventions for individuals dealing with neurological and movement disorders.
