Prior to entering academia, Dr. Baker gained extensive clinical experience in long-term care, focusing on patients with psychological disorders and medical complexity. She is board certified in geriatric physical therapy and authored a textbook for rehabilitation providers working with persons with mental illness. Teaching responsibilities and research interests include gait analysis, psychosocial aspects of health care, and management of integumentary disorders in a physical therapy context.
