Kerry Ball obtained a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2017. Kerry started her career as an acute care therapist at Northshore Evanston Hospital, treating a variety of diagnoses including trauma, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and oncology. In 2019, Kerry began working as a core occupational therapist in the Brain Innovation Center at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. Since then she has been promoted to Senior Occupational Therapist II in the Brain Innovation Center. In her role as a Senior Occupational Therapist II, Kerry is involved in a variety of projects within the organization including piloting a practice mentoring program for new hire therapists and assisting clinical practice leaders with developing an updated new hire curriculum for more successful onboarding of clinicians. Additionally, Kerry was the recipient of the 2023-2024 Buchanan Research Fellowship, a year-long fellowship in which she acts as the lead of a research project. Kerry has a Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation and acts as an expert in the field of neuro-rehabilitation as an AOTA Neurological Fellowship expert mentor and through the participation of multiple lectures at the state (ILOTA conference) and national level (Shirley Ryan Stroke Symposium).
