Abdulaziz Alanazi is a dedicated professional in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, currently pursuing PhD in health and rehabilitation science at Indiana University-Purdue University- Indianapolis (IUPUI). With a strong background in Health and Human Performance and Public Health, Abdulaziz is passionate about exploring alternative medicine, particularly cupping therapy, to enhance health outcomes and integrate traditional practices into modern healthcare.
As a co-founder of SOARx, Abdulaziz has a proven track record of promoting healthy lifestyles and advocating for community health initiatives. His work reflects a deep commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), ensuring that health programs are accessible and beneficial to all.
Currently, Abdulaziz is leading an educational intervention aimed at health science students across various majors, including Health Sciences, Exercise & Kinesiology, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Athletic Training, and Pre-Occupational Therapy. This intervention focuses on raising awareness about the potential adverse events (AEs) associated with cupping therapy, ensuring its safe application, and highlighting the health benefits of this increasingly popular therapy in the USA. Through this initiative, Abdulaziz seeks to equip future healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively integrate cupping therapy into their clinical practices.
Abdulaziz’s research and educational efforts are guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), as he works to bridge the gap between alternative medicine and evidence-based practice. His commitment to community health, coupled with his academic pursuits, positions him as a leading advocate for the responsible integration of complementary therapies in modern healthcare.
