Assistant Professor
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Dr. Yen-Sheng Lin received his BS degree in Mechanical engineering, MS degree in Biomedical Engineering, and doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed the postdoctoral fellowship training at Northwestern University and Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (formerly known as Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago). He is currently an assistant professor at Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Lin’s research interest includes the clinical and translational approaches to identify the risk factors of secondary complications in individuals with neurophysiological disorder such as spinal cord injury and musculoskeletal injuries such as rotator cuff tears. My lab is developing the radiomic-based diagnostic tools for early detection of the heterotopic ossification and deterioration of skeletal muscle and tendon quality. My lab is also expanding to translational approaches for better understanding of the skeletal muscle physiology in the context of mitochondrial dysfunction following aging-related myosteatosis or sarcopenia.
