Dr. Aaron Martin is a clinical psychologist at James A. Veterans’ Hospital (JAHVA) and Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at University of South Florida. His research and clinical areas of focus are on the role of insomnia and sleep apnea in the development of and adjustment to chronic pain, as well as adapting interventions for special settings and populations. He is a project MPI on the DOD-funded Improving Health Care Access and Engagement for Veterans and Service Members with TBI Morbidity (IHEAL), the focus of which (Project 2) is to develop a provider toolkit for accommodating cognitively impaired persons participating in evidence-based treatments. To address the co-occurring sleep needs of Veterans living with chronic pain, he has developed and continues to implement the Pain, Activation, & Sleep Skills (PASS) program at JAHVA.
