Dr. Jan Niemeier completed her Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. She later specialized in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology, and was board certified in Rehabilitation Psychology in 2003. She completed a Fellowship in Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA from 2009 to 2010.
Dr. Niemeier’s clinical experiences and research activities have primarily focused on treatments, particularly for persons with anxiety, mood, grief-related, and pain disorders as well as for those adjusting to disabilities. Dr. Niemeier has served as a consultant for NIDILRR, NIH/NICHD, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Secretary of the Veteran’s Administration Advisory Committee on Prosthetics and Special Disabilities Programs.
