Afroze graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. After working for multiple surgeons in the San Francisco Bay Area, she came to Hughes Orthopedics to assist with clinical research, publishing one paper and with one current abstract, both on orthopedic applications of stem cell therapies.
