Tanya Maines Brown, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Mayo Medical School and Board Certified Pediatric Neuropsychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Brown graduated with her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati with specialization in pediatric neuropsychology during postdoctoral fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is active in clinical and research endeavors at Mayo Clinic including the assessment of children and adolescents who present with cognitive and behavioral sequelae secondary to various neurologic conditions. Specifically, she has been conducting research and providing clinical care to children and adolescents with traumatic brain injury (TBI) for the past 25 years including a multi-site project examining the efficacy of an online family problem solving intervention for adolescents with TBI. Her most recent efforts have been the development of an outpatient cognitive rehabilitation program coordinating providers in speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, and psychology with specific interest on exercise and regenerative medicine.
In addition to this academic and clinical work, she has served in a variety of leadership roles during her tenure at Mayo Clinic including serving in the roles of Research Co-Chair for the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Co-Division Chair for the Division of Neurocognitive Disorders, Interim Chair for the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and currently Vice Chair of Organizational Health for the Department of Pediatrics.
