I am Liané de Klerk, originally from South Africa but lived in Aotearoa New Zealand for most of my life. I have been working in vocational rehabilitation for over nine years and have a real passion for empowering people to achieve their rehabilitation goals. My career has been focused on specialising working with police officers, supporting with their rehabilitation and return to work. This is my occupational therapy passion area, as I see so much potential for our profession in this space, and was the driving force behind my Master’s research. More recently, I have joined made the leap to lecturing and have the privilege of sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for occupational therapy with our next generation. This also introduced me to the world of research, which I am excited to learn, develop, and contribute to moving forward.
