Professor of Pediatrics
Weill Cornell Medical College
New York, New York, United States
I am a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, and Director of Clinical Research Mentoring for the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine. I am the Chair of the Steering Committee for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Research Network (CPCCRN), and a clinical researcher with expertise in pediatrics, pediatric critical illness, delirium, and PICU outcomes. I am a founding member of the Weill Cornell Delirium Work Group (DWG), which developed and validated the Cornell Assessment of Pediatric Delirium, a bedside delirium screening tool now used as standard-of-care for hospitalized children in academic PICUs worldwide. I lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers who spearhead research on long-term outcomes in child survivors and their families after pediatric critical care. I am currently MPI on a multi-site study investigating the relationship between the pharmacokinetics of sedatives and delirium. I am also the PI on a National Cancer Institute-funded multi-site study investigating the epidemiology of delirium and long-term cognitive outcomes in children undergoing stem cell transplantation. I have extensive expertise in designing, operationalizing, and supervising clinical research in the complex PICU environment.
