Mr. Colachis is a senior biomedical engineer focused on medical device research and development with seven years of experience in neurorehabilitation technology. He has an extensive background in human-machine interface technology, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, physiological signal processing, mathematical and computational modeling of biological systems, computer vision, and machine learning. Mr. Colachis is a key contributor on the NeuroLife project, primarily focused on designing, conducting, and leading clinical research, creating algorithms for collecting and analyzing clinical data, and developing software to advance Battelle’s neurotechnology. He has led multiple neurotechnology projects and holds multiple patents. His work also includes projects focused on rehabilitation/assistive devices for traumatic brain injury, object recognition, peripheral nerve stimulation, bioelectronic medicine, oxygen delivery, and drug delivery devices. Mr. Colachis serves as the intellectual property steward for Battelle’s MDS business line.
