Dr. Stacey Reynolds is a Professor and Director of Research in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She also directs the PhD Program in Health Related Sciences in the College of Health Professions at VCU. Dr. Reynolds has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT) since 2020; AJOT is the top-ranked journal in occupational therapy based on impact factor. Dr. Reynolds directs the Sensory Processing And Stress Evaluation (SPASE) lab at VCU where she conducts her research examining the underlying pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental disorders and tests the effectiveness of sensory-based interventions.
Dr. Reynolds received her Master’s Degree in occupational therapy from Gannon University and her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Florida in the area of behavioral neuroscience. Her scholarly contributions over the past 20 years earned her the A. Jean Ayres Research Award and a Fellowship award from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). She also received the Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching in the College of Health Professions at Virginia Commonwealth University.
