Leah Botkin, MSOT, OTR/L is an active occupational therapy practitioner and PhD candidate at the University of Missouri mentored by Dr. Rachel Proffitt, OTD, OTR/L. Leah is passionate about optimizing occupational therapy interventions and practices to ensure evidence-based practice and maximal patient outcomes. Leah established the LSVT-BIG neurorehabilitation program at her local hospital where she continues to advance the program by establishing outcome measures to gauge effectiveness of the program of a variety of patient factors. Additionally, Leah is interested in utilizing new, non-traditional, methods to determine the efficacy and value of occupational therapy services, such as the use of electronic health record data. Her research focuses on implementation science, health services research, and intervention development and adaptation.
