Mindy Fabbro, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is an Associate Nursing Professor at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) and a practicing Nurse Practitioner for an underserved population of patients. She brings more than 25 years of nursing experience to her position and teaches in graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. As a bedside nurse, she worked with an interdisciplinary team to facilitate and implement early mobilization protocols for patients in critical care to help maintain mobility and strength. From 2018 to 2021 she worked in an interdisciplinary primary care clinic as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked closely with dieticians, physicians, and occupational therapists to ensure patients received rehabilitation to improve their quality of life. In academia, she collaborates with an interdisciplinary team that uses evidence-based practices to create, plan, and facilitate mobilization simulations. She is passionate about making learning fun and teaching approaches to how healthcare professionals can improve the lives of their patients. One of her areas of research interest is interdisciplinary simulation focusing on rehabilitation. Mindy holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and certificates in Nursing Education and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from SVSU.
