Daniel Cai, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in electrodiagnosis and neuromuscular medicine.
Dr. Cai earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School, where he also completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He received advanced training through a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
Dr. Cai uses general rehabilitation principles and multidisciplinary care in the treatment of neuromuscular diseases. People with neuromuscular diseases often have complex rehabilitation needs, and Dr. Cai’s training bridges the gap between neurological treatment and physical rehabilitation care to optimize outcomes for these patients. He assists patients with electrodiagnostics, therapy prescriptions, biomechanics, orthotics, assistive devices, pain management, and wheelchair seating. He enjoys building relationships with his patients and helping them achieve their functional goals.
