James Farrell is a Registered Kinesiologist specializing in clinical rehabilitation care. James has worked at Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship Program - ELLICSR Centre for Health Wellness and Cancer Survivorship Princess Margaret Hospital providing assessment, exercise therapy, and education to cancer survivors.
James has been a been a guest lecturer for UofT graduate course: Biophysical Assessment and Interventions - Discussing Cancer Considerations for Exercise.
In addition, participating in nation-wide working group; “The Bone Metastases and Exercise Knowledge Translation Project" to review the publication of “The Perceived Risk of Skeletal Complications should be weighed against potential health benefits on the bases of consultation between the person, health care team, and exercise professionals” to develop tools and “knowledge products” (such as patient handouts, videos or other options) to increase the use of the expert recommendations in everyday life or clinical practice. This project was funded by the Canadian Cancer Society and Michael Smith Health Research BC and is being co-led by Drs Kristin Campbell, Michelle Nadler and Sarah Neil-Sztramko.
With previous experience working with Cardiac and Cancer patients from Princess Margaret Cancer Rehabilitation & Survivorship program and Scarborough Health Network Regional Cardiac Rehab Program; James is currently working as a Cardiac Rehab Supervisor at UHN Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program Toronto Rehab with focus on Cardiac and cardio-oncology patients.
