The Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS) is a conceptual framework and set of procedures for specifying rehabilitation interventions in ways that are expected to improve clinical education, research, and practice. This symposium will begin by introducing key RTSS concepts, using vocal rehabilitation examples. Then, examples of applying the RTSS to other sub-fields of speech-language pathology will be provided by experts from aphasia and cognitive disorders. The presentation will conclude with an outlook on future work to help disseminate and implement the RTSS across SLP sub-fields, discussing the implications for improved clinical education, research, and everyday care.
