The recent report on accelerating progress in TBI highlighted the dearth of health economics research in TBI. This symposium highlights partnerships between TBI investigators and health economists to address gaps in the field. Findings represent the cost of TBI incurred by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and community care costs after military TBI. Lastly, the utility of cost effectiveness analysis can help inform randomized controlled design (hybrid designs) in TBI research.
