Librada Callender is a clinical epidemiologist and research investigator at Baylor Scott & White Research Institute and works in physical medicine and rehabilitation research and the All of Us study. She started her career at Baylor Scott & White Research Institute in 2009 as a data collector for the Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems and has had many roles since this time seeing through investigator-initiated research for TBI, SCI and stroke patients. She completed her master’s degree in public health in 2017 and Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology with a minor in Biostatistics and Health Policy Research in 2023 from the University of Texas Health Science Center. She also serves as the Vice Chair for the Dallas Campus Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. Her research interests include neuro-disability, health disparities and healthcare access research with neuro populations including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke. She is the principal investigator for the NIDILRR funded Diabetes Prevention Program Group Lifestyle Balance for Cerebrovascular Accident adapted for Latino culture and language and investigator for the NIH All of Us study with Dr. Alan Stevens, NIDILRR Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems study with Dr. Simon Driver, and NIDILRR Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems study with Dr. Ann Marie Warren.
