Joseph David Epperson researches recovery from neurological injuries at the Texas Biomedical Device center, where he will complete his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2024. Joseph has been investigating the use of vagus nerve stimulation to enhance recovery after spinal cord injury or stroke while developing new tools to maximize recovery after injury. Joseph's primary contribution to the research and development of these therapies centers around the optimization of both rehabilitation and stimulation to increase recovery, especially in the area of telerehabilitation.
