Dr. Peter Toyinbo, a Health Statistician affiliated with the Department of Research and Development at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida, holds a Board-Certified Public Health professional designation. He assumes the role of co-director for the Workforce Initiatives Sustainment Evaluation (WISE). The initial doctoral degree in Medicine was obtained by Dr. Toyinbo from Nigeria. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Science in Public Health and a PhD in Public Health with a specialization in Biostatistics from the University of South Florida College of Public Health. Currently, he holds the position of Affiliate Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Dr. Toyinbo possesses more than a decade of research expertise in the VA, working closely with Principal Investigators who require assistance with analytics-related tasks such as designing research projects, formulating and testing hypotheses, analyzing data, interpreting results, and sharing research findings. He is primarily interested in using advanced methodological approaches to extract value from complex healthcare data that includes important real-world aspects. He possesses proficiency in various data mining techniques, including Bayesian network modeling for pattern extraction, social network modeling, survey instrument development using item response theory (IRT), inter-rater reliability assessments, and analysis of time-to-event (survival) data, in addition to his traditional regression-based modeling skills.
