Dr. Péter Molnár is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Institute for Insight at Georgia State University. Dr. Molnár is a data science and design leader whose passion is creating value from data analytics, modeling and simulations. A multidisciplinary academic and business professional, Dr. Molnár is advancing and applying data science theories and tools in both public and private domains, including research (robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning); current, frontier business data sets (institute “sprints” and entrepreneurship); and rendering new technologies viable for public safety and commerce (intelligence-led policing, and modeling and simulation of human behavior).
A professor of computer and information science and Atlanta tech community innovator, Dr. Molnár also served the Atlanta Police Foundation as chief data scientist, where he led the Technology Innovation Center to explore novel solutions for public safety. His academic research in social agent systems, collaborative systems, and distributed sensor-fusion has received funding from U.S. federal and state agencies. He received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in theoretical physics from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and a master's degree (dipl.) in physics from the Georgia Augusta University, Göttingen, Germany.
