Julianna M. Dean, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Sul Ross State University. She is also the undergraduate program coordinator for Kinesiology and Human Performance and the Interim Department Chair of Health Studies at Sul Ross. She holds an M.S. in Exercise and Health Sciences from UHCL and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Her research interests include geographic variation in rehabilitation and health services, equity in health information access, the influence of social capital on health, and exercise physiology. Her expertise extends to exercise outcomes in NCAA Division I gymnasts, health services, geographic variation, post-acute care, rehabilitation, Medicare data, big data, social determinants of health, social risk factors, exercise science, health policy, and R coding.
